 ncing Science 15:00 - 16:30 It’s already the 111th celebration of the Er
 asmus University. We would like to invite you on the 8th of November at 3.
 00 PM. The theme of this years edition is ‘Engaging Minds\, Advancing Sc
 ience’. Thus\, this 111th celebration has a societal touch\, focussing o
 n creating lasting impact in various fields. That’s the exact reason thi
 s years edition is very diversified\, in that way we believe no one will l
 eave this event uninspired. Below you will get a taste of the exciting pro
 gram. The host during this afternoon will be Ikenna Azuike\, a presenter a
 nd filmmaker\, born in Kenia but living in de Netherlands since 2004. From
  this 111th edition on the event will be in English\, and not in Dutch any
 more (as in the previous celebrations). Transfer of Rectorship After fulfi
 lling the role of Rector Magnificus for around 3 years\, prof. Annelien B
 redenoord will hand over the baton to prof.dr.ir. Jantine Schuit. Join 
 the event to be part of this special moment and listen to their inspiring 
 speeches.  Honorary Doctorates  Two highly appreciated professionals\, A
 lison Wylie (Professor in philosophy of social and historical sciences) an
 d Koen Lenaerts (President of the European Court of Justice)\, will be rew
 arded for their incredible work during the Dies Natalis. Besides receiving
  the awards\, we will listen to their inspiring speeches.  Awards It is a
 lways good to see people get what they deserve right? During the program v
 arious important awards will be handed out\; the Lambers Student Excellenc
 e Award\, the Research Prize and the FEMA Athena Award. Musical peformance
 /artists  The whole celebrational vibe will be brought to you by Laksmi d
 uring the afternoon. An artist who quite literally gives voice to the urge
 ncy of climate problems throughout her songs.  New generation of responsi
 ble leaders  A video of a generation of responsible leaders will be displ
 ayed to showcase inspiring stories. Which will in turn engage you to make 
 an impact yourself. Drinks After the ceremony there will be drinks. The pe
 rfect opportunity to share ideas and network with other attendees! We kind
